Teenage boys without fathers will be buddied up with senior Panthers players in a new mentoring program to help southern youths fulfil their football dreams.
Southern Man-Made - a partnership between the South Adelaide Football Club, the Hackham West Community Centre and the Hickinbotham Group - will see up to eight teenage boys partnered with senior players over the football season.
The youths will meet their buddies at least once a fortnight for gym and fitness work, life skills, eating habits and volunteer roles within the club.
Christies Beach High student and under 14 Morphett Vale Football Club player Chris Brooks, 13, (pictured) was buddied with senior player Dylan Williams, 21, when the program was launched yesterday (April 28).
"I'm looking forward to getting out there and having a kick with the players," Chris said.
